Many Faces of Diabetes

The Many Faces of Diabetes project supports adult newcomer immigrants and refugees in the prevention and control of diabetes.
The project serves communities at a higher risk of developing diabetes: African, Afghan, Latino and South Asian. Services include Diabetes Screening Events and Self- Management groups for the prevention and control of diabetes with monthly meetings and workshops.

Culture-sensitive approaches are provided by cross-cultural health brokers from Afghanistan, Eritrea, India, Mexico, Colombia and Sudan who speak the following languages:

Dari           Spanish
Farsi          Tigrigna
Hindi          Tigre
