Voces Maternas: Empowering Latin American women in the childbirthing year

Voces Maternas is a pre and postnatal support project for all Latin American pregnant women living in Metro Vancouver. Voces Maternas offers:

  • Educational and social support during pregnancy, birth and post-partum.
  • Workshops on childbirth education, maternal and infant health related information.
  • A cross-cultural health broker, a bilingual and bicultural health professional, supports families during appointments and navigating the maternity health care system in Canada.
  • Referrals to other supports and organizations such as Spanish speaking doulas, baby gear donations, etc.

While empowering women to make informed decisions about their maternity care and birth plans, Voces Maternas is also a space for women and their families to socialize, build and strengthen the Latin American community.

Voces Maternas works in partnership with The Esperanza Project, Growing together, and with PedHOP (Pediatric Health Outreach Program).

**Activities are free of charge, and there is no formal application to access the services.
